Unemployment rates remain high in area
Iron County tops the list with a 12.6% unemployment rate followed by Ashland County at 10.7% The lowest rate in the area is Bayfield County at 7.7% followed by Douglas County in the immediate area.

The Bayfield County Town of Russell chairman, Paul L. “Rocky” Tribovich, has been issued a complaint and summons by Bayfield County District Attorney Craig Haukaas for an alleged violation of the Wisconsin open meetings law.
