What’s going on at Eckels Pottery and Fine Crafts Gallery in Bayfield?

Eckels Pottery and Fine Craft Gallery in Bayfield is hosting a raku pottery firing, starting on Wednesday, July 22 and Thursday 23 from 3-8 p.m.

Raku demonstrations start at 3 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and go until nightfall. Guests can purchase a pre-made pot to decorate and take home from this exciting event. Deanna (Dede) Eckels will demonstrate how to glaze your pot and help you with firing. Raku is an outdoor kiln firing process that includes plunging the red-hot piece of pottery into sawdust. This is a children-and-adult-friendly event; pottery professionals do the actual “hot” part!
