Should Warren Nelson return?

That is the question a lot of people are asking themselves and others. I’ve heard from both sides. That question is also the question I’m going to ask in a poll which I will publish tomorrow (Saturday July 18, 2009) and the poll will be open for the remainder of the Big Top season.

Next year in the late winter I will again pose the question in another poll just to see if time has healed any wounds.

The poll gets published at noon tomorrow.

Reese E. Bressette, 19, of Bayfield goes to prison

A Bayfield man will spend one year in prison and one-and-a-half years under extended supervision after pleading no contest to an early June burglary at the Sixth Street Market in Ashland.

Reese E. Bressette, 19, was sentenced Thursday in Ashland County Circuit Court for the felony charge of burglary for his part in the break-in, during which numerous cases of beer were stolen during the early morning of June 9.

Windsled issue being resolved

At a special July 2 board meeting, the Bayfield School District took more steps toward resolving the issues between the Town of La Pointe, the Madeline Island Ferry Line (MIFL) and the school district over the costs and regulation of winter transportation for students living on Madeline Island and attending school on the mainland in Bayfield.
