I have to ask. Is there something in the water? This is the third time in three weeks we’ve been hearing about a sexual assault. One case has yet to go to court, the other two, both felonies, are punished with a slap on the wrist. Is there something you find difficult about punishing sex perv’s, Judge Eaton? At least for that crime, Ashland County Circuit Court is a cakewalk. We originally read about Albert Piff’s slap on the wrist here. Now we deal with Arthur N. Teschner Jr. Judge Eaton, you and I know each other, we go back a long way… What the hell are you thinking?

Arthur N. Teschner Jr. of Ashland was recently ordered in Ashland County Circuit Court to serve three years of probation for felony second degree sexual assault of a child.

Second Degree Sexual Assault Of A Minor Child: A person accused and convicted for having sexual contact or sexual intercourse with a person who has attained the age of 13 years, but has not attained the age of 16 years is guilty of second-degree sexual assault of a minor child, a Class C felony. (WI Stat 948.02(2))

For a Class C Felony, the penalty is a fine of up to $100,000, or imprisonment of up to 40 years, or both; however, for a repeat offender, the term of imprisonment may increase up to 2 years with prior misdemeanor convictions, and up to 6 years with a prior felony conviction.

Letting this sex perv walk, is unconscionable. I’m completely stunned at the lack of any justice. It’s an embarrassment. It appears the judge is derelict in carrying out his duties, and if you ask me, should be impeached. According to court records, sentencing was withheld for Teschner, 21, and he was instead given probation.

To comply with the terms of his probation, Teschner must serve four months in Ashland County Jail, provide a DNA sample, refrain from contacting the victim, obtain counseling and pay $499 in fines and related court costs.
The charges stem from several incidents that happened when Teschner, who was at the time 18, had sex with a victim who was younger than 16 years old, court records said.
